GEV Production Standardization

The Four-Layer Director's Playbook: Methodology

The Playbook is the non-negotiable standard for all GEV IP, converting narrative ambiguity into a precise, four-layer production blueprint that drives efficiency on set.

Structural Overview

The GEV AI ensures every script has four distinct layers of coded instruction embedded within the narrative structure, preventing subjective interpretation across departments.

[RED]

Layer 1: The Camera/Pacing Mandate

Serves: Director of Photography (DP) and Camera Team.

This layer eliminates subjective calls on set. It dictates precise camera movements, required lens choices, shot types (e.g., Extreme Close Up, Wide Dolly), and mandated scene pacing necessary to capture the story's emotional rhythm. The GEV AI ensures every action block and major emotional beat has a corresponding, actionable [RED] cue, eliminating debate and speeding up production.

[BLUE]

Layer 2: The Lighting/Gaffer Mandate

Serves: Gaffer, Lighting Team, and Colorist (Post).

The [BLUE] cues guarantee the light supports the narrative and thematic subtext. It specifies source, intensity, color temperature, and shadow depth required for the scene's emotional state. This layer prevents the critical error of visually neutralizing a powerful moment and provides the Colorist with non-ambiguous instruction during post-production.

[GREEN]

Layer 3: The Sound/SFX Mandate

Serves: Sound Mixer, Sound Designer, and Composer.

[GREEN] cues ensure intentional sound design—identifying crucial diegetic sounds, non-diegetic music cues, and specific ambience required to elevate the moment. It dictates what audio elements must be captured on set (Mixer) versus created in post (Designer), guaranteeing the sonic landscape is captured or designed with purpose and efficiency.

(SUBTEXT)

Layer 4: Subtext & Logistics Mandate (Parentheticals)

Serves: Actors, Assistant Directors (ADs), and Props Department.

Leveraging data from the GEV Beat Tracker AI, this layer ensures actors understand the emotional truth and inner objective underlying the dialogue. It also mandates AD/Props handling of critical character actions and prop continuity not fully described in the action blocks. It bridges the gap between what is said and what is felt, protecting performance and logistics integrity.

The GEV Advantage: Production Ready IP

Any screenplay can tell a story. The Four-Layer Playbook ensures your screenplay is a fully optimized production blueprint. By mandating the inclusion and correct placement of all four coded layers, the Green Eye Visions methodology guarantees your IP is shootable, on time, and on budget, moving efficiently through the slate pipeline.
